Defense helps Dover extend win streak
It wasn’t Dover’s best shooting night, but the defense ensured it didn’t need to be.
The Longhorns won their fourth straight game Tuesday by besting Mulhall- Orlando 51-33.
Dover had just one 3-pointer all night, but made up for it with several layups and bumps off the glass.
The Panthers struggled from shooting most anywhere against Dover’s zone. They also found it difficult to solve the Longhorns’ pressure.
One culprit was Jonah Pendergraft who had eight steals to go with his 20 points.
Casen Buck had that lone 3-pointer for Dover and added 12 points.
Lucas Conrady scored 10.
Dover was up just five points after a quarter, but used a 17-5 run in the second frame to break open the game.
The Longhorns led by 23 points after three quarters.
Dover is now 4-1.
