Dover makes quick work of Cov-Doug
Short-handed Dover got the hot hand from Rylee Buck on Tuesday.
Buck scored 22 points as the Lady Longhorns downed Covington-Douglas 46-28 in Dover.
The home team was without starter Kynlee Boeckman, who was out due to sickness.
Buck picked up the slack with five 3-pointers, including four in the first half.
She had 16 points by halftime as Dover claimed a 25-12 advantage.
The Lady Longhorns also got 10 points from Joi Caldwell and six each from Madison Goodwin and Ashley Gamez.
Dover put the game away in the third quarter with a 10-3 run as it improved to 6-4 on the season.
Dover’s balance dooms Wildcats
Four Dover players scored in double figures as the Longhorns won for the ninth straight time.
Covington-Douglas visited Dover Tuesday for its season opener and left with a 76-28 defeat.
Jonah Pendergraft and Lucas Conrady scored 14 points apiece to lead Dover, which used a 25-12 run in the second quarter for a 4318 halftime lead.
Pendergraft did all his scoring in the first half, including nine in the second quarter.
Conrady had seven in the first quarter and 10 points by halftime.
Casen Buck added three 3-pointers as part of his 13 points.
Ivan Ruiz contributed a season-high 10 as Dover moved to 9-1.
