Crooked Oak manages sweep over HHS
Despite two late chances to tie or take the lead, Hennessey came up short in its home opener.
The Eagles missed a late free throw and then later turned it over in a 51-50 loss to Crooked Oak Friday at the Eagle Event Center.
They led by four points entering the fourth quarter, but couldn’t keep up with the Ruf Nex and were outscored 14-9.
Tymier Adkins-Free man scored eight of his 13 points in the final frame for Crooked Oak.
The Ruf Nex also got all 15 of Daevion Hill’s points in the second half. That included an 11-point outburst in the third.

Torres posted 10 points in the second quarter as the Eagles took a 27-23 halftime lead.
Torres had 16 points at the break and ended his night with 21.
Rodriguez had just one field goal at the break, but made four second-half 3-pointers.
He finished his night with 19 points as Hennessey dropped to 1-1 on the season.
Lady Eagles saddled with second loss
Hennessey struggled to contain Crooked Oak’s Jouana Wiggins and it resulted in the Lady Eagles second straight loss to open the season.
Wiggins scored at least five points in every quarter and 27 overall to lead the visiting Ruf Nex to a 49-37 win at the Eagle Event Center.
Wiggins netted six points in the first quarter, but Hennessey was able to mostly keep up thanks to a seven-point quarter from Kassidy Amburn.
She nailed a 3-pointer and added two more field goals and HHS was within two points.
