Cashion takes 2nd at KGC
The Cashion boys golf team had another strong showing at the Kingfisher Golf Course.
The Wildcats took runner- up Monday in the Kingfisher High School Small-School Invitational.
Cashion’s 316 was four strokes better than thirdplace Thomas’ 320.
Kingfisher’s JV team was six strokes behind Thomas to take fourth in the 18-team field.
Community Christian dominated the team race with a strong 273.
It featured three of the five best individual scorers, including medalist Collin Bond, who fired a 2-under-par 68.
The Royals’ Will Whorton was fourth with a 72 and teammate Carson Montgomery was one stroke and one place behind him.
Carter Ray of Walters delivered the only other under-par round with a 69 to place second.
Crue Garrett of Velma- Alma was third with a 72, beating Whorton on the scorecard playoff.
Cashion was led by a pair of 77s delivered by Max Brown and Aaron Holten.
Camden Maroney fired a 78 and Ashton Moore an 87.
Kam Miller also shot a 101 for the Wildcats.
Cale Reagan led the way for Kingfisher’s JV with an 80.
Luciano Orozco shot an 86 and Sam Wood an 87.
Paytun Burnham turned in a 92 and Ryan Sanders a 96.
Kingfisher also had four individual golfers in the event: Matthew Mecklenburg shot a 100, Brody Boden and Cooper Young
115s and Cale Leck a 120.
Hennessey took 10th in the team standings with a
388.
Kevin Trillo paced the Eagles with a 76.
Garrett Vinson scored
a 96 while Joe Davis had
a 105.
Taylor Ladwig shot 119 and Daxton Lee a 123.
Okarche brought three individuals to the tournament.
Hunter Mueggenborg led the trio with a 101.
Quinn Schneiter scored
a 110 and Colin Kroener
a 111.
