Cashion powerlifters qualify for state meet
While the Cashion wrestling team sent one female to the state tournament this weekend, its girls powerlifting team will be sending four to the state meet.
Qualifying for the Oklahoma Girls Powerlifting Coaches Association state meet after their performances in the north regional were Khloe Kastner, Chevy Eubanks, Makayla Hines and Emerie Eubanks.
All four advanced in the 108-pound weight class.
Kastner placed fourth in the regional, Chevy Eubanks was fifth, Hines placed sixth and Emerie Eubanks seventh.
Kastner placed in all three lifts. She was fourth in the bench press (95 pounds) and fifth in both the squat (190) and deadlift (215) and scored seven overall points. She lifted a total of 500 pounds.
Lilly Wilson of Luther won the individual meet title with 12 points, won first in all three lifts and lifted a total of 680.
Chevy Eubanks was fourth in the deadlift (215) and lifted a total of 480.
Hines was fifth in the bench with a lift of 90 pounds and lifted a total of 450.
Emerie Eubanks lifted a total of 380.
The team is coached by D.L. “Dud” Robertson and Drew Elerick.
The state meet is Monday, March 3, at the Choctaw Event Center in Durant.
