Wildcats’ run ends
Nathan Nabav i ’ s last- second attempt couldn’t find its mark as Cashion saw its season come to a close.
The Wildcats fell 38-35 to Warner on Thursday in a 2A area consolation quarterfinal.
“We didn’t shoot it well all playoffs and it finally caught up to us,” coach John Hardaway said. “We did everything else pretty well.”
Cashion (13-14) shot just 28 percent overall, which included that same percentage from 3-point range (4 of 14).
Still, the Wildcats were able to close most of a 10-point deficit it had entering the fourth quarter.
Nabavi, who led Cashion with 11 points, got the final shot.
“It was a decent look,” Hardaway said. “It was just a night we didn’t hit much and they had some guys hit shots they don’t normally make.”
Chance Acord added nine points for Cashion while Kamden Miller added eight.
