Cashion’s Baker, Nabavi to continue football careers
Two of the pivotal components of Cashion’s run to the 2019 Class A state runner-up finish signed last week to continue their football careers. Pictured at the bottom left are Alex Nabavi (left) and Ryan Baker. Nabavi signed to play at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. Baker will be a preferred walk-on at Oklahoma State University. Both players started on both sides of the ball as Cashion won 13 straight games before falling to Ringling in the Class A title tilt. Nabavi was named a Class A All-Star as he excelled at both wide receiver and defensive back. Standing in the center above, Nabavi is pictured with siblings, from left, Brian, Nick, Kate and Nathan. Also pictured are his parents Liz and Nima Nabavi. Baker started on both the offensive and defensive lines during his senior season and was a multi-year starter on the offensive front. He was named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team. He’s pictured with his parents Riece and Justin Baker. The two were initially set to sign last Wednesday during a ceremony at the school, but snow forced its postponement until Friday. [Photos provided]
