Burnham wins K101 golf tournament, scholarship
Tristun Burnham racked up another golf win last week…and another scholarship.
The recent Kingfisher High School graduate, who has signed to continue his golf career at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, was the winner in Monday’s K101 Classic Bowl Golf Tournament in Woodward.
Burnham shot a 74 at Boiling Springs Golf Club to win the second annual event by four strokes over Blake Hunter of Arapaho-Butler.
Burnham was also selected as the recipient of the Jesse Wales IV Memorial Golf Scholarship.
Burnham was presented the $2,000 scholarship after the tournament.
Wales was a 2001 Kingfisher High School graduate, was an avid golfer who was living and working in Shattuck with his family at the time of his untimely death in July 2021.
Burnham was sixth at the Class 3A state tournament last month and will represent KHS one more time in his career.
He’ll play next month in the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Games in Tulsa.
