Baseball postponed
Kingfisher had to wait 10 years between trips to the state baseball tournament.
Then it was forced to wait another day.
The Class 4A tournament was postponed from its original start date - Thursday - due to unplayable conditions at Edmond Santa Fe.
Instead, Kingfisher played Verdigris in a quarterfinal game at 4 p.m. Friday (after press time) at Edmond North High School.
The postponement necessitates keeping the entire tournament at Edmond North.
Should KHS win Friday night, it would play the Blanchard-Berryhill winner at 11 a.m. Saturday. The championship game is set for 4 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting.
A full recap of Kingfisher’s state tournament will be in Wednesday’s edition, but updates can be found on Times & Free Press social media platforms throughout the weekend.
