3 Lady Jackets earn all-conference
Three Kingfisher softball players were named to the Tri-County All-Conference team for their 2021 seasons.
Selected to the team were juniors Mya Dewberry, Natalie Dick and Taylor Mills.
The conference includes KHS, Pioneer, Fairview, Alva, Watonga, Waukomis, Chisholm and Ringwood.
Pioneer’s Morgan Meyer and Fairview’s Alayna Long were named co-MVPs.
Katelyn Trumbley and Dave Riesen of Pioneer were named pitcher of the year and coach of the year, respectively.
Dewberry was named as a catcher.
She was second on the team with a .510 batting average. She led the team in hits (49) and was second in RBIs (27) and runs scored (28). She also led the team with 14 doubles and two triples this season.
Dick was selected as a third baseman as she batted .475 for the season.
She led the team in runs scored (31), was second in hits (47) and fourth in RBIs (18).
Mills was tabbed as an outfielder.
She hit .415 for the season and was also among the team leaders in hits (27), runs (18) and RBIs (11). Mills also hit two home runs to lead the team.
