William ‘Billy’ Turner
William “Billy” Mitchell Turner, 76, went to be with his Lord on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, while surrounded by family.
He was born Dec. 20, 1942, in Tulia, Texas, to Marvin and Johnnie (Stubblefield) Turner and was the youngest of five children.
After attending school, he went to work at the local cotton gin in Norton, Texas, before moving to Dover and pursuing a successful career in the oilfield with his brother Mannie.
Billy was a fun-loving prankster who loved watching his grandkids play sports. He also loved trading vehicles, going to the movies and playing poker.
He will be most remembered for the love he had for all of his friends, family and grandchildren.
Billy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley (Caulder) Turner; sister Barbara Brock of Norton, Texas; brother Mannie and wife Kathy of Hennessey; son Keith Fenwick and wife Linda of Memphis, Tenn.; daughter Cheryl Bullis and husband Chris of Dover; son Mitchell Turner and wife Kristy of Kingfisher; son Ricky and wife Krystal Turner of Loyal; son Chad Turner of Okarche.
He’s also survived by grandchildren Jennifer (Bullis) Farrar and husband Chase of Kingfisher, Krista (Bullis) Peck and husband Matt of Kingfisher, Katie (Turner) Krittenbrink and husband Drew of Edmond, Kylie Turner, Tristian Fenwick, Hunter Turner, Macy Turner, Brayden Turner, Kaleb Turner, Drake Fenwick, Brittney Hiebert, Staegan Turner, Jake Hiebert, Kamryn Turner, Maeli Turner and Eastin Turner; and great-grandchildren Collin and Cal Farrar, Palmer and Parker (due in a few weeks) Peck and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Clara Lee Pitchford, brother-in-law Bobby Pitchford, sister Marva Jean Underwood, and nieces Anita Jones and Teresa Sweeten.
A celebration of life was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Dover Christian Church with Pastor Fred Jones officiating.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at the Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, Texas.
