Thelma Roberts
Thelma Sue Roberts, 82, of Kingfisher, formerly of Blanchard, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, in Kingfisher.
The daughter of Charley Joshua King and Ludy Lou (James) King, she was born March 5, 1937, in Fletcher.
Thelma Sue worked for many years as a cook at Senior Village Nursing home in Blanchard and was Baptist in faith.
In her spare time, she enjoyed singing and writing songs, reading her Bible, and doing arts and crafts, especially painting. Thelma Sue was a great cook and everyone enjoyed her Hershey cake.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lonnie Ray Roberts; four sisters, Annie Pearl King, Mae Duncan, Wilma Welsh, and Helen Smith; five brothers, Ralph, Charles, Druie, Chester, and Alvin “Buddy” King; and a special friend, Bill Vandever.
Thelma Sue is survived by her five daughters, Rose Sherwood and husband Robert Kuehn of Kingfisher, Betty Weindel and husband Gary of Barling, Ark., Dianne Ireton and husband Roy of Choctaw, Donna Hurst and husband Randy of Camden, Ark., and Tina Fitzgerald and husband Frank of Norman; seven grandchildren, Jerry Bussey and wife Janell of Mississippi, Brian Weindel and Felicia Cox of Arkansas, Kim Weindel and Bruce Burleson of Arkansas, Will Ireton and wife Misty of Choctaw, Justin Ireton of Blanchard, David Hurst and wife Lydia of Arkansas, and Mason Fitzgerald of Norman; 11 great-grandchildren, Crystal, Dustin, Ethan, Brendan, Kaleb, Brooklyn, Kaitlyn, Madilyn, Halyn Grace, Daren, and Sammy; six great-great-grandchildren, Cassye, Haley, Ryan, Tyler, Christina, and Jace; numerous nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial followed in the Blanchard Cemetery.
