Sarah Post Standridge
The world lost a lovely lady with the passing of Sarah Katherine Post-Standridge on May 6, 2020.
Sarah was born into the Christian family of Behrend (Ben) and Anna Marie (Gleichmann) Post on July 12, 1922, near Cashion.
She was baptized on July 26, 1922, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kingfisher where she was confirmed on May 31, 1936, and remained a lifelong member until her death.
Sarah attended and graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1940. After attending Hills Business College in Oklahoma City, she went to work for American Iron and OG&E while living in Oklahoma City.
Sarah met Cleve Standridge while in Oklahoma City.
On December 21, 1963, Sarah married Cleve in the home of her parents.
After their marriage, they moved back to the family home in Cashion. While living in Cashion, Sarah worked for Everett Murphy Law Office in Kingfisher for several years.
Cleve and Sarah shared 19 years together until his death on May 14, 1982.
Sarah enjoyed gathering with family and friends and traveling with friends.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Elmer Post; and husband, Cleve Standridge.
Left to mourn her are her stepchildren, Mary and Kay Stewart and Carol Summers; her step-grandchildren, Kalen Stewart, Jerry Stewart, Carrie Lynne Kaul and Terri Lee Jech; five great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
Praise be to our Lord and Savior for a life well lived in the service of His church.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at the Kingfisher Cemetery with Rev. Tim McCarty officiating. Services are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
