Patsy Amos
Memorial service for Patsy Amos, 69, of Kingfisher will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at First Christian Church, Hennessey officiated by Brother Dick Kurtz.
Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.
Patsy was born in Thomas on Feb. 4, 1952, to Verdon Albert and Gussie Mae Carpenter Rhodes and died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Patsy was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church in Kingfisher, the Kingfisher Elks Lodge where she was honored as being the first female Exalted Ruler of the lodge.
She owned and operated the Trail Hand Café for a number of years. She then obtained her Oklahoma insurance agent’s license and owned her own Farmers Insurance Group Agency in Kingfisher for several years.
She is survived by one son, James McElfresh and wife Jennifer of Crescent; one daughter, Tammy Dobbs and husband Keith of Hennessey: two brothers, Scotty Rhodes and wife Sharon of Chester and Bobby Baker and wife Tina of Enola, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and her best friend Sue Mullins aka Thelma; and many nieces and nephews.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son; one brother, Mike Baker; two sisters, Syble Schlarb and Leota Bower; one nephew, Terry Szczecina; and her stepfather, Joseph Bower.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the charity of donor’s choice with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
