Mary Lynne Hall
Mary Lynne (McCoy) Hall peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones on July 2, 2022. She was 78.
Lynne was born on Sept. 27, 1943, in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., to 2nd Lt. Ernest Eugene McCoy and Maxine Evelyn (Little) Thomas.
Lynne graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1961.
She married John Richard Ahlden in 1961 and on March 5, 1962, they had a daughter, Robyn Lynn Ahlden.
Lynne attended business school in Wichita, Kan., and transferred to Alva Business School where she graduated and then took her first job as a legal secretary for an attorney.
She also was the first activities director for Cimarron Nursing Home when they first opened and also worked at First Shamrock as a bookkeeper and receptionist.
She worked at the Kingfisher Senior Citizen’s Center before she took her job as the lunch lady - “Mrs. Lynne” at Geen Gilmour Elementary School.
She worked there for 17 years and the last few years she was tutoring and mentoring young kids with reading.
Mrs. Lynne knew every child by name and she loved her “kids,” as she would call them.
She loved her job and co-workers, as they grew to become “family.”
Lynne was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church in Kingfisher for 37 years, where she was known as the “Piano Lady” as well as the church secretary until they closed the doors in 2017.
Lynne was always a go-getter and never met a stranger. She was always willing to help others and had witty comebacks, but she would also let you know if she was having a bad day.
Holidays were her favorite, especially Christmas with family and church and playing the music for Christmas Cantatas.
Jesus was a part of her daily life and she loved to talk with others about Jesus and helped every year with Vacation Bible School.
Lynne is survived by not only her sister but best friend, Gene Egleston of Kingfisher; grandson Michael P. Ahlden of Nampa, Idaho; granddaughter Lynna Jan Ahlden of Hydro; two great-grandsons, Chason Ahlden of Nampa, Idaho, and Travis Ahlden of Hydro; two great-granddaughters, Aurora Ahlden and Rosemary Lynn Ahlden of Nampa, Idaho; nephew Craig Egleston of Broken Arrow; nieces Jamie King of Jay and Jennifer Coburn of Old Hickory, Tenn.; and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Victor Durham; and her only child, daughter, Robyn Lynn Ahlden Hutchings.
Funeral Services were Saturday, July 9, at Oak Street Baptist Church under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
