Kirk Pinkerton
Kirk Pinkerton was born Nov. 18, 1935, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. He died peacefully surrounded by family on June 10, 2023, at his home in Okarche. Kirk graduated high school from Okarche Public School in 1954 and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Kirk was in the First Battalion, Platoon 198, based in Camp Pendleton in San Diego, Calif.
He spent many years working on dude ranches in Colorado doing the activities he loved the most. He then became a member of the PRCA.
Kirk loved spending time with family and friends singing, rodeoing, ranching and watching his grandchildren grow up.
He married Rosie (Grellner) Pinkerton on Sept. 4, 1965.
Kirk was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years Rosie; his parents, Wayne D. and Mary Lou (Kirkpatrick) Pinkerton; sister Gayle and her husband Carl Ault; inlaws Pat and Barbara Weaver, Robert and Florence Rother and Paul and Regina Schwarz.
He is survived by his daughter Sharon Robinson and her husband Brent and children Kara and fiancé Landon Mollet and Raegan; daughter Julie Harris and her children Josh and fiancé Ally Taylor, Kaleb, Phillip and Luke; son John Pinkerton and his wife Tenessa and children Wyatt, Austin and Maelyn; and son Mike Pinkerton and his wife Lindsey and children Jill, Kate, and Emma; in-laws Joe and Marion Grellner, Norbert and Pat Grellner, Paul Grellner, Jerry and Dorothy Coffey, Merlin and Donna Collins, Gary and Gerry Mueggenborg; and many nieces and nephews.
The family asks donations in Kirk’s name be made to Holy Trinity Catholic School or Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at Holy Trinity Church in Okarche with Rev. Cory Stanley officiating and under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
Inurnment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
