Joan Norman

Joan Dowell Norman, 82, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024, at her home in Hennessey.

There will be no services at her request.

Joan was born in Winston- Salem, N.C., on Aug. 19, 1941, to Frederick Eugene and Virginia Elizabeth Lewellyn Dowell.

She married William Arthur Norman in South Carolina on Dec. 9, 1962. The couple later moved to Hennessey.

Joan was a member of First Baptist Church. She worked at Hennessey Medical Clinic for a number of years.

Joan is survived by two sons, Billy Norman and wife Cindy of Wagoner and Bill Norman, Jr.; one daughter, Jennifer Norman of Enid; one stepdaughter, Gail Lemieux of Walnut Cove, N.C.; one sister, Patsy Sale of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and her friend Bonnie Harris of Hennessey.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Norman, brother Freddie Dowell and his wife Red.
