Geraldine ‘Gerri’ Barrow

Geraldine “Gerri” Ann (Couchman) Barrow, 80, passed away Dec. 25, 2021, at Sunset Estates in Purcell.

She was born to Archie and Mildred Couchman on June 6, 1941, in Okeene.

Gerri grew up in Okeene and graduated from Okeene High School.

After high school, she moved to California to be near family and worked as a nurse’s aide.

She married Ronald Vallerand in California and they had one son, David Vallerand.

Gerri moved back to Oklahoma in 1979 where she and David made their home in Blanchard.

She married Delmar Barrow on March 2, 1981, and were married for 35 years. They made their home in Blanchard until 2015 when they moved to Okarche.

Gerri attended nursing school and graduated from Mid-America Vo-Tech with her LPN license. She worked at Purcell Hospital, Health-Back Home Health and other nursing jobs.

She was a member of Okarche First Baptist Church.

Gerri was preceded in death by her husband Delmar Barrow, her son David Vallerand, her parents and sisters Alice Hughes, Loraine Hodge, Shirley Guthrie and Kay Lee.

She is survived by daughter-in-law Tonya Vallerand and three grandchildren.

Services were Friday, Dec. 31, at Okarche First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Okarche Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home in El Reno.
