Georgia Shimanek

Georgia Mary Shimanek, 88, Hennessey, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022.

Georgia was born Nov. 13, 1934, the sixth of nine children to Ed and Frances Havlik Shimanek in Hennessey.

Georgia resided east of Hennessey all of her life with her sister and best friend Mildred.

She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Georgia is survived by her sisters Mildred Shimanek of the home, and Mary Stroda of Ramona, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Benedict, Raymond, Edward and Thomas Shimanek; and sisters Martha Mages and Wilma Shimanek.

Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, Dec. 27, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Edward Menasco. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry- Gritz Funeral Home.
