Dorothy Caulk
Dorothy M. (Alexander) Caulk was born to James and Viola (Rutz) Alexander in Longdale on May 28, 1926, and died peacefully on Jan. 26, 2022, at the age of 95.
Dorothy grew up on a farm southeast of Canton and graduated from Canton Public School in 1945.
Dorothy moved to Enid to attend beauty college and met the love of her life, Max Caulk. They married July 18, 1948, and made their home on the family farm in Hennessey.
She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Dorothy loved the Lord and her church.
She loved cooking, sewing, quilting, spending time with her siblings, traveling with her nieces, but most of all, her three granddaughters.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Mae (Hughes) Alexander; her husband, Max Caulk; three brothers, Fred, James and Ray Dean; four sisters, Lola Enlow, Ellen Henley, Elnora Gillum and Darlene Alexander.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Freddie Max Caulk and wife Debbie of Hennessey and Jay Caulk of Portland, Ore.; three granddaughters, Sara (Greg) Garrett of Kingfisher, Ashley (Andrew) Ewbank of Enid and Jamie (Brad) Moore of Hennessey; and seven great-grandchildren, Emily, Gretchen and Natalie Garrett, Baylor and Wade Ewbank, Abby Kate and Mason Moore; sister-in-law Twila Alexander and many nieces and nephews.
In honoring Dorothy’s request a graveside service was held Monday, Jan. 31, at the Hennessey Cemetery with Reverend Ish Engle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Hennessey First Christian Church Memorial Fund with Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home serving as custodian of the fund.
