Don George

Don George was born Sept. 16, 1949, at Granite City, Ill., to Roy and Wilma George.

He passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024.

He graduated from Kingfi sher High School.

He married Betty Gray in 1969. They had two sons, Donnie and Jamie, and one daughter, Bridget. Don and Betty divorced in 1987.

Don was a mechanic most of his life. He was self-employed and worked at Baustert Motor and Roy and Sons Salvage. He retired from Walmart where he worked as a janitor.

Don is survived by his sister, Theresa Pittman and husband Jerry; son, Donnie George; daughter Bridget Palmer and husband Pete; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jamie George.

A graveside service will be held at Kingfisher Cemetery at 2 p.m. Monday Jan. 29, under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
