David Wittrock
David Joseph Wittrock was born Aug. 31, 1954, in Oklahoma City to Herbert Joseph and Margie Lou (Yost) Wittrock. He passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, March 10, 2020, at the age of 65.
David graduated from Okarche High School in 1973 and continued his education at OSU Tech, graduating in 1976.
He married Debbie Belshe his “Rock” on April 11, 1980, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche. They established a home west of Okarche where they continued the family farming business until his death.
David and Debbie were blessed with three beautiful daughters, raising them on the family farm and teaching them the work ethics of the farmer.
David loved his daughters dearly, always willing to help with school projects, sporting events, class trips, FFA lamb shows, and their many other extracurricular activities.
You would always find David in his Suburban, loaded down with screaming girls. He had a special bond with each of his girls and was very proud of the women they grew up to be.
His daughters blessed him with three grandsons which were the lights of his life and his “little buddies.”
He loved going to their baseball and basketball games and was always thinking of new things he could make for them to do on the farm, even building them a mountain of dirt to play in.
When not playing outside, you could find him playing on the floor with them or holding them on his lap in his favorite red chair, playing games on his iPad or watching the boys’ favorite TV shows where Papa would usually fall asleep.
David had a love for old classic cars and was always looking for another one to buy even after his barns became full. He also loved traveling with his family, which they did often.
He is survived by his wife Debbie; three daughters, Julie Merritt and husband Shane of Oklahoma City, Jaren Wittrock of Yukon, and Jenni Wittrock of Edmond; three grandsons, Kooper Edward Allen, Gunner David Allen and Spencer Joe Merritt; two sisters, Nancy Copeland and husband Jerry of Kingfisher and Jane Wittrock; brothers-in-law Ken Belshe and wife Denise of St. Augustine, Fla., and Keith Belshe of Yukon, and sister-in-law Lashawn Kochenower and husband Garry of Kingfisher; nieces Christin Crosswhite and husband Jeremiah of Kingfisher, Kerri King and husband Brian of Broken Arrow, Hailey Crosswhite, Riley Crosswhite, Ella King, Cloi Kochenower, Ava Belshe and Andrew Belshe.
He is also survived by his special niece and nephew, Morgan Furgeson and Logan Furgeson, whom he called his bonus son and daughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Margie Wittrock; grandparents, Joe and Rose Wittrock, and Felta and Zeta Yost; mother- and father-in-law, Stephen and Martha Turner and sister and brother-in-law, Tammi and Dr. Michael Furgeson.
Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Okarche.
