David Turner
David LaWayne Turner, 53, formerly of Kingfisher, peacefully passed away Oct. 11, 2022, while surrounded by loved ones.
Dave was born May 31, 1969, in Kingfisher to Fred and Mary Ann (Bollenbach) Turner. He grew up at Big Four where he helped his family with Turner Blackjack BBQ until they retired from the business.
He graduated from Kingfi sher High School in 1987. Afterward, he worked in construction for many years at Bollenbach Construction and then for a brief time at Cimarron Electric Cooperative.
Dave loved life and was always the life of the party.
He was passionate about hunting. It was one of his favorite hobbies with dove and deer being his favorite seasons.
He loved hunting with his children, friends and family.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, an aunt and grandparents.
He is survived by his daughter Taylor Brooks and husband Chris of Edmond; son Dawson Turner of Okarche; grandsons Turner and Charlie Brooks; brother Tim Turner and wife Ricky of Florida; sister Sherri Friedberg and husband Dan of Texas; brother Larry Turner of Kingfisher; four nieces and nephews, three great-nieces and great-nephews; and friend Daphne Ivy.
A celebration of life for Dave will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the old Turner Blackjack BBQ shop.
