Darrell Manuel

Darrell Gene Manuel, 82, passed away peacefully in Oklahoma City on Dec. 17, 2023, with his beloved wife, Karen, by his side.

He was born on March 19, 1941, in Cushing to Eugene and Gwendolyn (Woolver) Manuel.

He graduated from Cushing High School in 1959, going on to earn degrees from Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma.

On Sept. 29, 1995, Darrell married the love of his life, Karen Koch.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Karen; son, Hayden Manuel; stepsons, Eric (LeAnn) Helt and John (Leigh Ellen) Baker; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; brother, Larry (Linda) Manuel; and brother-in-law, Dale (Jamie) Schoeling; three nieces, one nephew and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.

Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29 with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment to follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Okarche.
