Curtis Stumpf

Curtis Martin Stumpf went to walk alongside his savior Jesus Christ on July 25, 2022.

Curtis was born to Merl and Martin Stumpf on May 18, 1936, in Kingfisher.

Curtis graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1954 and married the love of his life, Molena Glazier of Loyal, in 1955.

Curtis began his employment with Pioneer Telephone in 1957, where he continued to work until his retirement in July 1999.

Curtis also served as a volunteer firefighter. His volunteerism began in Drummond and continued in Kingfisher, where he retired after a combined 33 years of service.

Curtis’ favorite pastimes included boating, fishing and spending time with his family.

He enjoyed spending time at the lake where he could enjoy all three of his passions.

Curtis was a teacher and always made time to pass on life lessons to his daughters and grandsons, who he was so very proud of.

He found Lake Tenkiller to be his favorite lake. In 1997 Curtis and Molena purchased a lake home there so they could spend their retirement years enjoying their passion and splitting time between their two daughters.

Curtis was a man of extreme honesty and integrity. These traits were visible in his actions and through his actions, he served as a role model for some many people.

All those around him experienced his steadfast commitment to doing what was right. Curtis took pride in setting a good example and instilling these traits into those closest to him.

Curtis is survived by his wife Molena of the home; his two daughters, Mary Kaye and husband Mike Henson of Cookson and Patricia and Sidney Smith of Kingfisher; his three grandsons, John Staude of Perkins, Bryan Pool and wife Jenne of Mulhall, Jay Staude and wife Kathryn of Yukon. Also, his six great-grandchildren, Kaydence and Analie Staude; Daegan, Maison and Emersan Pool; and Jaxon Staude.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather Morris Monroe and his brother Loren Stumpf.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Kingfisher Fire Department in honor of Curtis Stumpf.

A funeral service to honor the life of Curtis will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at the Kingfisher First United Methodist Church.

Come-and-go viewing was at Wilson Funeral Home (1612 S. Main, Kingfisher) Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
