Cleola ‘Punky’ Maxwell
Cleola “Punky” Maxwell went to her Lord and Savior Aug. 9, 2019, at age 84.
She was born Sept. 3, 1934, to Rufus and Emma Vilhauer of Loyal. She was raised on the family farm and on May 25, 1952, she married Alfred Maxwell, her high school sweetheart.
They farmed together on their farm east of Loyal.
Granny, as she was always called, was known for her unconditional love and amazing pies.
No matter what she baked or made, it was always delicious.
Granny loved to go fishing with PoPo and no matter who you were, she would feed you. She loved her Thunder basketball team and the Lomega Raiders.
She was president of U.M.W. in her lifelong church, Loyal United Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughters Audrey Maxwell of the home and Debbie Westphal and husband John of Loyal; son Rodney Maxwell and wife Dawn of Little Elm, Texas; grandchildren Dustin Westphal and wife Brandi of El Reno, Trisha Chestnut and husband Joey of Loyal, Kandice Ahlberg andhusbandNateofPflugerville, Texas, Karlee Maxwell and Tashawn Littlejohn and Natalee Maxwell, all of Little Elm, Texas, and Cara Maxwell of Oklahoma City; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Cody Brinkmeyer of Yukon and Mary Moelling of Oklahoma City; brother Jerry Vilhauer and wife Joyce of Stigler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Granny was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sheila, grandson Corey, sister La-Vaughn Fisher, along with other family members.
Memorials may be given to the Loyal United Methodist Church memorial fund.
