Clay ‘Bubba’ Bedell
Clay “Bubba” Bedell was born April 5, 1955, to John Edward and Zola Bedell in Andrews, Texas.
He passed away Saturday, July 20, at his home in Yukon.
The family moved to Bristow when he was 2 years old, then to Chandler, where he lived from second grade through freshman year.
As he entered high school, the family moved to Kingfisher. He graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1974.
He played football and ran track at KHS while also working by baling and hauling hay.
After high school, he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he was a trainer and manager for the football team.
After college, Bubba coached football at Erick before joining a campus ministry for a year-and-ahalf.
He then joined his brother in Yukon High School, where Bubba became a drafting teacher.
While in Yukon, he met Janice Wilkins. They married in 1990.
She had three daughters and a son and together they had one daughter, Allison, born in 1994.
Bubba is survived by his wife, Janice Wilkins Bedell; daughter Sarah Elizabeth Hamner; daughter Jenah Marie Hamner Hamilton and her husband Dan; daughter Micah Mary Hamner Pillmore and her husband Brian; son Garth Ryan Hamner and his wife Allison; and daughter Allison Blair Bedell Rush and her husband Kyle; 11 grandchildren; brother John Bedell and his wife Belinda, sister Tonya Hux and her husband Mark; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service was held Thursday, July 25, under the direction of Yanda & Son Funeral Home.
