Billy Lightle
The funeral for Billy Leroy Lightle, 77, was Friday, Oct. 15, at First Baptist Church in Hennessey and officiated by Jimmy Berkenbile. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Billy was born in Hennessey on Sept. 9, 1944, to Dwight Leroy and Anna Vaverka Lightle and died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at Great Plains Medical Center in Elk City.
He graduated from Hennessey High School in 1962 and was a heavy equipment operator at Lightle Sand and Construction for many years.
Billy was a Kingfisher County commissioner for 12 years and was secretary-treasurer of the Oklahoma County Commissioners Association.
He is survived by three daughters, Tamara Kersey and husband Tony, Kim Leal and husband Donnie, Brenda Dammann and hus band Dwight; one sister, Barbara Hagar and husband Larry; nephews David Dollar and wife Becky, Gene Hagar and wife Kimmy; nieces Terri Woods and husband John and Kellie Knolles and husband Ben; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Town of Hennessey Rodeo Grounds with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
