Billy Givens
Billy Dewayne Givens, 59, of Perry, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 14, 2020, in Perry.
Billy was born Feb. 25, 1961, in Perry to George and Helen Ann (Folsom) Givens. He was always a hard worker, working for dairies, hauling hay, working on cars and welding.
He loved to go coon hunting, deer hunting and fishing.
Billy worked at Charles Machine Works from 1993 through 2002. He was a welder and participated in teaching students and adults to weld.
He was instrumental in helping to put together a handbook for the vo-tech in early 2000.
Billy married Neena C. Givens in 1981 and to this marriage were born three sons.
In 1997, Billy married Sherry Neely.
Billy was a storyteller and what a story he could tell. No matter the subject he could leave your sides splitting with laughter.
He was boisterous and outgoing and if you ever met him you wouldn’t forget him.
One of his passions was the Civil War re-enactments. Although he hurt tremendously and couldn’t do it often or sometimes couldn’t make it through the battles, he loved it and introduced whoever he could to it.
He is survived by his loving wife Sherry of the home; his three sons, Jacob Givens and Rita Gordon of Perkins, Jared and his wife Katie Givens of Stillwater and Jeremiah and his wife Ali Givens, also of Stillwater; stepson, Blake Andrew Neely of Stillwater; his mother, Helen Ann Givens; sister, Christina and her husband Mike Chantnacran; a brother, Derris Givens and Thelma Lloyd; his niece and nephew, Norma Ann Chantnacran and George Allen Chantnacran; mother-in-law, Janice Neely of Stillwater; sisters-in-law Sandy and Mike Estes of Pea Ridge, Ark., Shon Tetik of Perry, and brother-in-law Mike and Leslie Neely of Albuquerque, N.M.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
