Alvin ‘John’ Brooks

Alvin “John” R. Brooks of Crescent passed away Sunday Dec. 20, 2020, at the age of 85.

He was born in Mountain View on June 16, 1935, to Tollie and Georgia McCraven Brooks.

He married Anna Louise Hicks Brooks on Oct. 10, 1953.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents Tollie and Georgia Brooks; Louise Brooks; sister Barbara Brooks; daughter Sue Brooks Stone and son-in-law Doyle Stone; son Sonny Brooks; and great-grandson Daxxon Sanders.

Alvin is survived by his sibling, Betty Jo Brooks and her husband, Jim James. He is also survived by his daughters Jo Brooks Descher, Sandy and husband Dan Marlow; sons, Johnney and wife Joanne Brooks, Bobbie and wife Sandra Brooks, and Mary Fullerton.

He is survived by 13 grandchildren, Shannan and husband Mark Camouche, Dustin Sanders, Nikolas and wife Hanna Descher, Zakary and wife Christy Descher, Patrick Descher, Mariah Descher, Dustin Brooks, Kirk and wife Linden Marlow, Kelley Marlow and husband John Boling, Sonya Brooks Gurrola and husband Bob Jones, Tiffany Brooks and husband Ben Breshears, Shane Brooks and Kelsey Brooks; six great-grandchildren, Conner and Morgan Gurrola, Ryleigh Jo Descher, Brixton Brooks, Kailer Marlow, Riley Wright and Maxxen Sanders.

Private family services were held. Arrangements were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.
