Almeta Ashlock

Almeta Jean Mead Ashlock passed away Oct. 27, 2021, at the age of 74.

Almeta was born July 12, 1947, in Laverne to Raymond and Mary (Sample) Mead.

She grew up in Laverne and graduated from Laverne High School in 1965.

She married Dean Ashlock on July 7, 1965, in Wheeler, Texas.

They moved to Hennessey in 1969.

To their union they added four children: Travis Ashlock and wife Lisa of Carencro, La.; Teresa Wymore and husband Dennis of Ames; Tabitha Ferrell and husband Eric of Sublette, Kan.; and Tyson Ashlock and wife Rebekah of Enid.

She is survived by her husband of the home; her children; grandchildren Cheyene Snell of Tulsa; Bailey Snell and wife Courtnye of Joplin, Mo.; Jake Ferrell and fiancé LaTristae Torres of Texhoma; Taryn Ashlock of Enid; Kati Wymore and husband Jackie Walters of Hennessey; Daniel Wymore of Hennessey; three great-grandchildren and one expected to arrive early next year; two loving sisters, Jeanette Faye Beard of Follet, Texas, and Ramona Ilene Davis of Battleground, Wash.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Almeta was a loving wife and mother and was a caregiver to many people through the years. She was a caring, sweet and gentle soul.

Family was one of the most important things to Almeta.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 30, at the Laverne Cemetery.
