Lutheran Church, Team Miriam event raises funds for local Meals on Wheels

More than 100 people registered to participate in Lutheran Church Charities K-9 comfort dog Miriam’s fun run held on Saturday, Oct. 29.
Sponsored by Kingfisher Emmanuel Lutheran Church and Team Miriam, the event raised $8,664 to benefit Kingfisher Meals on Wheels.
“We were very pleased with the participation and people in the community were very supportive,” top dog handler Keith Leimbach said.
A first time event, Leimbach said they hope to make the fun run an annual event to benefit different local organizations each year.
“We’re thankful for the great deal of local support for Meals on Wheels,” board president Sheila Thomas said.
“This will be a tremendous help in serving the community.”
