Bryan Schlegel called the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office Jan. 27 to report that a flatbed one-ton pickup truck was pulled up in front of his residence at 20483 Fay Ave. and the driver was firing a handgun.
Deputy Todd Davis responded to the call and traveling east from Schlegel’s home, Davis spotted a truck matching Schlegel’s description stopped in a T intersection, where the driver threw something from the window, according to Davis’ affidavit.
Davis got out of his vehicle and then the truck pulled forward and Davis heard a gunshot. Davis, called for backup and pursued the vehicle until it pulled into a driveway and the driver got out. By that time, deputies Brad Logan and Wayland Thomas had arrived at the scene and helped subdue and handcuff the driver, later identified as Moyeda.
Deputies found spent shell casings on the driver’s side floorboard of the vehicle and another shell casing in the roadway at the T intersection where Davis had heard a shot fired. Davis also found a white container at the same location that holds new bullets.
A handgun was under the driver’s seat, according to the affidavit.
