Read moreSHAWN WALKER has served on the board of education for 10 years. He graduated from Dover in 1987. He and his wife Julie (Perdue) have two children, Kristina and Dylan, both of whom graduated from Dover. Kristina teaches kindergarten at Dover and Dylan will soon graduate from UCO. Shawn spent 14 years in law enforcement, two in Hennessey and 12 in Guthrie. He’s currently employed by Gibson Integrity as a pipeline inspector. “Our job as board members is to ensure the students, staff and administration have everything they need to allow our kids the best opportunity to be successful in their lives.”

Work led him to Missouri and Texas before returning to Okarche where he now serves CHS as the senior director of operations for Oklahoma and west Texas. Jason also serves on two ag industry boards. He and his wife, Anna, have four sons. “I feel my experience serving on and reporting to a board of directors will benefit the town of Okarche. I believe it’s imperative to operate with honesty and integrity, focusing on doing the right things the right way. I plan to apply these principles to my time serving the community of Okarche if you grant me that opportunity.”

He also holds a B.S. in construction technology from the University of Central Oklahoma and owns a construction business. Mitch and his wife Tamara (KHS 1987) have three daughters, Aly and Aby, both KHS graduates, and Anna, a junior. “I want to help provide the best possible atmosphere our students can thrive in to accomplish their goals in academics, activities and sports. It takes a special person to be a teacher, coach and administrator and I want to help them be their best and it all starts with leadership.”

She moved to Okarche nearly 30 years ago upon marrying her husband, Steve and they have two children, Stephanie and Bryce. An accountant with 30 years’ experience, Dana was appointed Okarche town clerk in October 2016 and has since been elected twice to the position. “I’m dedicated to putting our citizens FIRST; doing what is right for Okarche and always upholding the law. This is a complex position for which I am well versed and trained. Okarche requires a Town Clerk with the knowledge and experience to perform the job. Please vote on April 4.”

He’s the mechanical engineering manager at Nortek Air Solutions–Temtrol. Mike and his wife Andi have three children: Cal (15), Grady (13) and Will (10). “As a board member I will work to ensure the school board provides budget transparency; provides a safe environment for our children and staff; hires and retains excellent teachers and staff; builds trust between parents and teachers; and ensures our children receive the best education for a successful life.”
