Vonda Vincent
The funeral for Vonda Lee (Turner) Vincent, 85, was Monday April 1, at Dover Christian Church offi ciated by Grant Curtis and Jimmy Berkenbile.
Burial followed at Dover Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Vonda was born on the family farm in Loyal on May 30, 1938, to Orville and Marci Garms Turner and died Wednesday March 27, 2024, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid.
Vonda married James Max Vincent in Loyal on April 12, 1957.
She was a member of Dover Christian Church and was very active in the church and community. Vonda was a Sunday School teacher and led funeral dinners at the church, often feeding 80 to 100 people at a time.
She served on the Kingfisher County Election Board for over 40 years. In addition, she was a volunteer and served as a teacher’s aide at Dover Public School and was very active in the booster club.
Vonda is survived by her husband James Max of the home; two sons, Clay Vincent and wife Jill of Hennessey, Max Vincent and wife Bana of Dover; grandchildren Katie Barrett and husband Shannon of Houston, Cody Vincent and wife Mollye of Hugo, Kendsy Vincent, Bailey Wagnon and husband Tyler, all of Dover; great-grandchildren Avery and Jack Barrett, Miles Wagnon, Ezra Hardin and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Mark Vincent, and sister Margie Thompson.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to Dover Christian Church with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
