Abby Hobgood won three gold medals - and four medals overall - to help lead Cashion’s girls to the Class 2A regional track and field championship Monday at Alex.

Hobgood won the open 200 and was part of the winning 800 and mile relay teams. She was also on the 400 relay team that took third.

That helped Cashion score 118 points to easily surpass runner-up Pawhuska’s 84.

Velma-Alma was third with 67.

Joining Hobgood on the 800 relay team were Chevy Eubanks, Megan Shafer and Reese Williams.

The mile relay team also consisted of Sierra McCracken, Eubanks and Williams.

The 400 relay team along with Hobgood was Eubanks, Madison Westerhoff and Williams.

The 3,200 relay team finished third and consisted of Addison McCracken, Megan Shafer, Brooke Shafer and Sierra Mc-Cracken.

Eubanks finished second just behind Hobgood in the 200.

Hobgood crossed the line in 27.13 seconds while Eubanks was clocked at 27.14.

Williams was the runner- up in the 300 hurdles.

Sierra McCracken took third in the 800, Addison McCracken third in the 1,600 and Brooke Shafer was third in the high jump.

All of those finishes are automatic qualifiers for state, which is Friday and Saturday at Western Heights High School.

There could be more additional qualifiers once tabulations from other regionals are made.

The top three placers in each event from each of the four regionals automatically qualify.

The next six best times, distances or heights from all the combined regionals will also advance as additional qualifiers.

The official list of additional qualifiers had not been released at press time.

Gage Bedick medaled in three events and helped Cashion finish seventh as a team.

Bedick was second in both the 800 and two-mile run and third in the mile.

He qualifies for state in all three events.

Cashion also saw Hank Brown finish fourth in the 400, giving him a chance to advance as an additional qualifier.

Luke Baustert also has a shot after taking fourth in the pole vault.

Travis Loeffelholz was sixth in the 300 hurdles.

Cashion scored 35 points at the meet.
